I have seen a week ago that Cisco press is willing to come with a new Official Certification Guide at the end of 2020 so it’s a bit late for all of us, assuming that now with Corona Virus we do have the time to study and practice.

I have done my research and it seems that the best path studying is to go through a combination of existing books, exam topics and video training:
1. The TCP/IP Guide http://www.tcpipguide.com/free/t_toc.htm
2. CCNA Security Official Certification Guide and Lab manual, at least the scope that needs to be reminded for CCNP SVPN
3. CCNP Security VPN 642-648 2nd edition (Cisco Press) keeping in mind that it does not cover:
> DMVPN and GETVPN at all
> IKEv2 and FlexVPN in detail
> EasyVPN is an optional read
4. IKEv2 IPsec Virtual Private Networks (Cisco Press)
5. From Cisco Live the document referred as BRKSEC-2881
6. INE videos for CCNP Security SIMOS 300-209

What I would suggest is to create a team and collaborate with each other, resolving existing issues and questions and specify a weekly meeting where each one of us will deliver something that has mastered from the Material

Yes there are some video at UDEMY but I have already an account with INE and I am pretty satisfied with the instructors and the way they deliver each concept.

As mentioned earlier I would like invite all of you guys here to collaborate and build up a really good network so we could exchange every day tshooting knowledge and resolve issues quicker and easier.

A good practice learning a technology is to get prepared for it and try to explain it to others using a lab or some slide. If you wish we could that for free and every week we could have some of us to explain IPsec concepts or DMVPN or real scenarios from our jobs

I been studying simos for a while, using the material from cbt nuggets and the official book from the 5 day course (published 2014). And I’ve progressed quiet deeply into it.
I’m actually hoping this new 300-730 is similar to the 300-209.

It’s best to get yourself an older SIMOS book, and start from there, that’s what I am doing.

I compared the exam description its very similar only difference i spotted is the below:

Seems SIMOS removed some topics and SVPN added some new topics, we can brush up on New topics (mostly labs i presume) and try best to filter out the older topics no longer taught

I am in – I plan to take the official CISCO course (500$) but will help here with all i can.
I also went trough the blue print for the new and old exam and I can confirm – there is very (VERY) little difference between both exams – I WISH someone that took the new exam can confirm here. I have been studying for the old exam for a few months and also for the new now – so I will take this exam during the summer and will hope for the best.
I looked at this and it looks like a really nice place to start (unfortunately there is a price….but dont forget this is CCNP shit !!!)

Because B is what is the result of the MM_NO_STATE
A and D are not valid answers ……C is 100% but if this is worded differently ?

The show crypto isakmp sa command shows the ISAKMP SA to be in MM_NO_STATE, meaning the main-mode failed.

So far noone has reported any SIMs on the exam….. I have seen reports of a DND questions – but none are in the free dump :(

OR actually C-D are more likely to be correct – shows tunnel is up but no traffic (ipsec sa) and nhrp to see if the NHRP registration is completed …..

ipsec tunnel is up to test nhrp registration process DE I think the question is asking only to look nhrp not ipsec or crypto etc

NHRP registration question

I somewhat disagree on this one.
In this document: “https://www.ciscolive.com/c/dam/r/ciscolive/us/docs/2018/pdf/BRKSEC-3052.pdf”, on slides 71-73 they use

show crypto ipsec sa
to see that the traffic is encrypted and sent out. Then they use

show ip nhrp detail
to check the NHS entry

We don’t have the choice of using show ip nhrp detail, but on the other hand “show dmvpn detail” returns the output of show ip nhrp nhs, show dmvpn, and show crypto session detail

I may be seeing the thing in the wrong way, but I think that the answer should be CE
